A coordinator oversees each Tetra chapter – promoting Tetra to people with disabilities (often via various service providers), recruiting and overseeing volunteers and marketing Tetra to potential funders and supporters.
We ask coordinators for up to 12 hours work per month. All out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed.
Coordinators do not need a technical background. Indeed, the bulk of the work is networking: contacting possible volunteers, clients, community groups and potential funders. The coordinator brings the volunteers together for monthly brainstorming meetings and to assign projects.
Coordinators tend not to be technical volunteers, but there is nothing to stop one person fulfilling both roles.
As word spreads about Tetra’s services, so does demand. We receive hundreds of requests each year in communities that do not currently have a chapter.
At the same time, the need for our services is growing, with an aging population and medical advances that see more people surviving traumatic injuries.
Tetra is always finding new areas to serve.
If you are interested in starting a new chapter in your community, please let us know.
Head office can provide written information detailing the process, all the required promotional materials and all the support you will require to give your new chapter a solid start.
Email Tetra with an attached resume.
