Volunteer with Tetra

“People are not limited by disability, but rather by obstacles and barriers in their environment.”

It’s a simple concept: rather than focusing on an individual’s disabilities, look instead at the things that are stopping them from doing what they want to do, and find a way to overcome these barriers. That always was the philosophy of Tetra founder Sam Sullivan. It explains how Tetra works, and how our volunteers think.

Tetra is constantly recruiting volunteers in every community across Canada and the United States. The organization needs to find ingenious people willing to take on new challenges.

If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for:

Technical Volunteers:

Technical volunteers do not have to be engineers – just practical-minded people with a mechanical aptitude. Each Tetra chapter should ideally have a mix of skills (some volunteers might be woodworkers, others might be experts in metalwork or fiberglass). more info  >

Chapter Coordinators:

Tetra coordinators require a mix of marketing, communication and administrative skills. The position involves networking with various agencies (to promote Tetra), liaising with clients and running volunteer meetings, and some fundraising (with support from head office). Coordinators are required to take over some existing chapters or to start new ones (with support). more info  >

We ask volunteers for up to 12 hours work per month. All out-of-pocket expenses, such as materials and mileage, are reimbursed
